Benefits of Invisalign

Man wearing Invisalign clear alignerHave you heard of Invisalign? This highly popular orthodontic teeth-straightening method is making waves thanks to its discretion and removability. However, what’s all the buzz about this appliance and what benefits does it bring to the table? Read on to find out!

Transparency, Removability, and Comfort

No brackets, no wires. Invisalign clear aligners are a series of custom-made plastic trays that secretly reposition your teeth. The plastic we use for Invisalign is smooth and flexible, making it considerably more comfortable than braces. You won’t have any sharp edges pushing into your gums with Invisalign!

We do a scan of your mouth and specially design a series of trays for each stage of the process. You receive a new set of trays every two weeks, and each one is made just for you.

Invisalign clear aligners are completely transparent and fit discreetly over your teeth, so they don’t detract from your look. This makes them an excellent choice for teens and adults who don’t want the restrictions and stigmas that accompany metal braces.

Because they are removable, you can pop them out to eat whatever you want! Since they’re transparent, they can do the work of repositioning your teeth without onlookers even noticing.

Ease of Cleaning

Metal braces often get in the way when brushing and flossing, but since Invisalign patients remove their aligners to brush and floss they won’t experience this problem. You can also clean the trays by brushing them with a toothbrush. Invisalign does a better job of keeping your teeth clean, which optimizes the teeth-straightening process. By closing up gaps, we give bacteria fewer areas in which they can grow. Straighter teeth means better dental health, and good dental health usually leads, in turn, to better overall health.

Fewer Orthodontic Visits

Another problem with braces is they require periodic trips to the orthodontic office. Invisalign, on the other hand, doesn’t need as much maintenance. Invisalign patients usually don’t need to come into our office more than once every six weeks. This allows us to expedite the treatment process.

No Food or Lifestyle Restrictions

Many of the orthodontic choices out there have restriction on food and lifestyle options. Even if they have good dental health, many people loathe getting orthodontic work done for these reasons. Gum, caramel, popcorn, corn-on-the-cob, and other favorite foods are off limits if you have braces. But since Invisalign patients can pop out the trays when they eat, they can enjoy anything they want. This is a huge advantage that Invisalign has over braces.

Because they are removable, these aligners score big points with kids and teens who play sports or musical instruments. Kids with braces need mouthguards for contact sports and playing a wind, or brass instruments is often difficult. However, kids with Invisalign can play just like they normally would!

Patients who have transformed their smiles with Invisalign often turn into the method’s biggest cheerleaders. The results are self-interpreting. Schedule a consultation and see what Invisalign can do for you!
